Ghosts

              Ghosts

In the house that grief built

The rooms are empty and dark.

There is no sun shining thru

nor do any flowers bloom.

In the crushing silence

I hear your voice

And long for

 you to return.

The foundation is nothing

but crumbling blocks

that collapse under the weight

of my loss.

The walls are paper thin

and cannot contain the pain

found within.

In this house that grief has built

there is no joy nor peace

only the ghosts of what we

were meant to be.
