The Wing Doctor

“THE WING DOCTOR”

Once there was a Pop that was loved by everyone.  His granddaughter, Samantha loved him enormously!  He called her, Sammie.

Sammie’s Pop was very sick, and she came to visit to help her Nana take care of him.  She loved to make her Pop giggle.

But her Pop was much sicker than anyone knew.  Sammie knew though.  She told her Nana not to worry, that Pop was going to be okay!

Sammie and Nana, took Pop to the hospital for doctor appointments, and to the clinic for treatments.  They helped him at home.  She would take Pop water, so he could take his medicine.

But what she was best at was making him giggle.  All she had to do was give him “the look”.  Sammie could make some of the funniest faces.  Pop would laugh and giggle.

Pop’s friends would come to visit and they would get very sad.  But, Sammie was good at making everyone forget just how sick Pop was.

One night Pop told Nana and Sammie to go to the lake and feed the ducks and geese.  So Nana gathered up all the old bread and rolls she had been saving and off they went to the lake.

When all the bread was gone and it was time to go home, Sammie wanted to know if Pop would get better.  Nana said that Pop would probably go to Heaven.

Driving past the lake and over the wooden bridge, she asked if Nana knew the “Wing Doctor”.

Nana said she did not know the “Wing Doctor”.  Sammie said well do not take Pop to the “Wing Doctor”.

Nana asked Sammie who’s the “Wing Doctor”.    Duh, Nana, Sammie said, he is the doctor you will take Pop to when the other doctors can't fix him.

Oh Nana said why shouldn’t I take Pop to the “Wing Doctor”.

Nana!  Pop is not ready for the “Wing Doctor”.  His doctors have a lot more needles to give him and medicine to help him.

Okay, NO “Wing Doctor” for Pop.  Good! Sammie said.

Pop will need to go to the “Wing Doctor” when the other doctors don't help him feel better anymore.  The “Wing Doctor” will give Pop a really big needle.

But don't worry Nana, it won't hurt him.  It will take all his hurts away, and then you know what happens?

Nana said Nooo! Sammie said, if you had been paying attention you would know.  Nana said I am sorry, I wasn’t paying better attention but, what happens.

Sammie explained that the “Wing Doctor” will give Pop his wings and he will go to Heaven!  And then Sammie said Pop will live in Heaven with all the angels and Jesus.

Well as you all have probably realized, Sammie, helped all those that loved Pop, understand that Jesus needed Pop back and that is why the “Wing Doctor” would need to be seen eventually.

AMEN!
