I’m excited to share with you a new movement and certification course, Managing Grief in the Workplace.
Why is this a movement?
The average employee works over 40 hours a week, creating a family atmosphere inside the office. These are the people you see nearly every day, people you celebrate success and cry over failure with. These people become your people. And that’s a good thing because studies prove that supportive relationships with coworkers boosts productivity and feelings of well-being in the workplace. But like all families, when one member is shaken by personal tragedy, we’re all affected.
So the International Grief Institute started a movement— to reach and teach people how to create a sustainable culture of support in today’s workplace.
Why it matters.
Being underprepared is expensive to employers—to the tune of up to $500 billion in lost productivity every year. On average only 5% of employees use EAPs. People’s well-being are at stake.
